New Hope Pregnancy Center:

            The United Methodist Women recently had Angela Davis of the New Hope Pregnancy Center as a guest speaker.  She is director of this new Christian center in Shepherdsville providing services that have not been available in Bullitt County.  It is supported by donations and should qualify for grants once it is up and fully running.  Our UMW decided to assist them with one of their fund raisers.  On Mother's Day, baby bottles will be available for people to take and fill with coins, bills, or checks.  These will be collected on Father's Day and returned to the center.  Services include Christian counseling, classes, referrals, pregnancy tests and baby supplies.  Please help the UMW in financially supporting this worthwhile organization.  If you have questions, contact Sue Moffett or Ginny Au.

Henderson Settlement

            Time is quickly passing and soon we will be going for our annual work trip to Henderson Settlement.  The dates are October 21-26.  Mark your calendar now and reserve those dates.  There is something for everyone to do.  We'll find you a job or teach you to do something you never thought you could do.  It is a great time of fellowship with fellow church members, other churches and the folks at Frakes, KY.  Most likely we will be working closely with the St. Matthews UM Church of Frankfort, Indiana, as we did 2 years ago.  The sooner we know who and how many are going, the better it will be to select a project and determine funds needed.  The individual cost is $205 per person for the mission dorm or $270 per person for guest housing, referred to as the "Henderson Hilton" (more private and a little nicer but not as much fellowship).
