I am the pastor of Mt. Washington U.M. Church, Mark W. Wilson. I came to Mt. Washington U.M.C. in June of 2000 and am starting my 7th year of ministry here. I’ve been in ministry since 1979. I’ve pastored country and city churches, as well as started one new church and helped another church relocate from an old downtown location in Covington, Ky. to a new location in Independence, Ky. I am a graduate of Asbury College (1975) and Asbury Theological Seminary. (1979) I’ve had other experiences in life that helped me in my ministry. I was in sales, built houses for about a year, and was a substitute, teaching in the public school system. God used those experiences to help me in ministry.
I am married to a lovely lady, Cindy. She is the manager of Main Street Market here in Mt. Washington which is a store selling gifts, outdoor furniture and antiques. One of the members of our church once said, “Pastor Mark, your wife Cindy is your best asset.” She and I are a team in ministry together.
We have four children. The oldest is Steve Wilson. He is married to Elizabeth and they live in Northern Kentucky. Steve works for the Symantec Software Company in the area of software sales support. Elizabeth works in the home building industry helping people pick out appliances for their new home. Next in line is John Sergeant. John is married to Crystal with a little girl, Lily who is only one and a half. (This is our only grandchild at the time.) John works for UPS on their metro program. That program allows him to attend Jefferson Community College here in Louisville. Crystal is a full time home maker and stay at home mom. Nicole is the oldest daughter. She is a nurse and is married to Tim Brungs. Tim is a chemical engineer working for General Electric and they live in Evansville, In. Last is our youngest Ashley. Ashley is married to Paul Massie who is a student at University of Louisville studying to be a dentist. I guess they are going to keep the business in the family because Ashley is a dental hygienist.
