Our Youth Minister

This year our Staff-Parrish Relations (SPR) Committee has faced some hard tasks. One was to find a new Youth Pastor. Becky Keown resigned as our Youth Minister after over 10 years of service. Becky was doing ministry in this church before I came. But it wasn’t just the years of service that made this hard. Becky had a very effective ministry here. She’s touched the lives of so many young people. There isn’t a week that goes by where someone doesn’t say to me how she ministered to their life. So after all those years of faithful service, in September our SPR team began the search for a new Youth Minister.

Youth Fellowship

Our Youth Fellowship is a family of young people 6th through 12th grades united by the love of the Lord.  As a group they combine together as one to bring enlightenment to all they encounter.  Our goal  is this ministry is to express the Word of the Lord in a fun and exciting new way.  We do this by mission trips, camp experiences, community service, retreats and other activities like skating and swimming.  We meet each Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.  All youth are invited to attend these fun, spirit-filled, teen-focused nights.  Come and join us!!

The group is led by Becky Keown.......

From the Youth Pastor

This week, Jess, Zeke, Yana, and I had many family and friends over to celebrate the childrens' birthdays. Both Zeke and Yana were born in the month of April, just 2 years apart. If you know me, you know that I tend to be sort of always called "emotionally handicapped." Every time I think about how fast Zeke and Yana have grown, I at the very least have the potential to tear up. It makes me sad that they are growing so, so fast and that I will blink and they wiadults with lives, families, jobs, and troubles of their own. I can also almost weep with joy at what a blessing they are to me and Jess. The Bible says that children are a blessing from God, and this is no more true that with our two. I absolutely love and live for being a dad.  I love to see Zeke and Yana's eyes light up when we stop at the DQ to get an ice cream.
